Brazil's Top Android Music & Podcast Apps in Q4 2020: A Sensor Tower Overview

As the fourth quarter of 2020 concluded, Sensor Tower data revealed notable trends among the top Music and Podcast applications on the Android platform in Brazil.

YouTube Music experienced a significant spike in downloads, peaking at 1.5M in mid-October, and stabilized around 250K by the year's end. Weekly active users followed an upward trajectory, starting at 12M and cresting at nearly 19M in late October, before settling at approximately 17.9M.

Lark Player also saw a surge in downloads, with a high of 735K in the third week of October. The downloads showed a gradual decline to 270K by the final week of December. Revenue modestly increased from USD 35 to USD 111 throughout the quarter, while the number of weekly active users fluctuated, ending the period with a slight rise to 7.5M.

Music Player & MP3 Player witnessed its download peak at 373K in early November, followed by a decrease to 289K by December's end. Revenue grew consistently, reaching USD 86 in the last week of the quarter. The application's weekly active users showed a remarkable growth, more than tripling from 835K to over 3.1M.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a steady download rate, with a spike at 322K in mid-October and ending the quarter with 233K downloads. The app's weekly active users saw a peak of 27.9M at the end of November, highlighting its strong user base.

Music player reached its download zenith at 400K in the third week of October, with a subsequent fall to 122K by the close of December. Its revenue exhibited a modest upward trend, and weekly active users peaked at 2.5M in early December.
